Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields—Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections) — Often, when left with no other option, children experiencing domestic violence or other emergency circumstances are placed in temporary hotel accommodation. These are moments of profound distress and uncertainty, compounded by trauma and disruption to schooling and stability. The Silver Coin Project is a remarkable family-run organisation supporting primary school-aged children across the Macarthur region who are facing these circumstances. Now in its ninth year, the project provides uniforms, shoes, excursions, lunches, scholarships and camp fees, ensuring vulnerable students are not excluded from a full school experience. For many children, this support represents far more than material assistance. It restores dignity and offers hope at a time of upheaval. Co-founders Darko and Jenny balance full-time work with their commitment to Silver Coin. Alongside a dedicated team of volunteers, they work to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive. Their newest initiative, Brightside Bags, provides essential toiletries, food vouchers and supplies for children entering temporary accommodation. More than 100 bags have already been distributed through local primary schools, and the program continues to grow.
