Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields—Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections) — On the 1st of March 2026, I had the privilege of attending the Eid Exhibition Festival in Minto, hosted by Sydney Bangalee Community Inc. Eid is a time of reflection, generosity, and unity for Muslims around the world, and within South Asian culture it is celebrated with vibrant colours and community spirit. This year marked the eighth year that Sydney Bangalee Community Inc. and Sydney Bangalee Boutique Club organised a celebration, with stalls of South Asian fashion and jewelry businesses welcoming Ramadan with the latest styles. Small businesses connected to Bangladeshi and South Asian cultures were welcomed from far and wide, given the opportunity to display their goods. Community members from across NSW travelled to the Macquarie Fields electorate to begin the holy month of reflection with vibrant Bangalee culture. I commend the organisers, led by General Secretary Ms Selima Begum, inspired by her mother the late Ms Hasina Uttin, along with volunteers and more than 60 members of the Sydney Bangalee Team for delivering such a meaningful event. Their work ensures cultural traditions flourish while bringing people together in celebration and mutual respect.
