MP urges residents to sign petition opposing Ingleburn RMS closure

14 September 2015

Local residents are encouraged to drop into the office of the Member for Macquarie Fields, Anoulack Chanthivong, to sign a petition urging the Baird Government to reverse its decision to close the Ingleburn Motor Registry office.

“The petition is one way we can lodge our protest and collectively demonstrate our clear opposition to this decision, which will disadvantage thousands of local residents,” Mr Chanthivong said.

“The Ingleburn Motor Registry serves our community well and helps tens of thousands of customers each year. I am not prepared to sit idly by and see our community denied its fair share.

“The Baird Government’s decision is an insult to our community. Not only will local residents be inconvenienced but there will be also be a negative flow-on effect for local businesses and shops.

“I encourage residents to support my campaign by signing the petition to voice our strong opposition to the registry’s imminent closure. By working together, we can help our community get the services it deserves,” Mr Chanthivong said.

The petition is available for signing at Shop 3, 2-6 Oxford Road, Ingleburn until Friday 2 October.

Residents are also encouraged to lodge their protest by phoning Premier Baird’s office on 8574 5000 or emailing him at manly@parliament.nsw.gov.au.

“I’m calling on the Premier to reinstate this essential service for the people of the Macquarie Fields electorate and south west Sydney. Our community is fed up with being short-changed and it’s time to take action,” Mr Chanthivong added.
